The Khazneh el-Faroun ("Treasury of the
Pharaoh")--Petra's most important rock-carved tomb facade--attributed in local
folklore to the Pharaoh of Egypt who created it by magic as a treasury--probably a royal
tomb of the 1st century B.C./A.D.
