Middle Woodland Figurines.  The Middle Woodland efflorescence is marked by several art styles, among these are the fired clay figurines.  The figurines vary in quality between careful delineation of the human figure to roughly shaped anthropomorphic lumps.  Evidence such as the finely worked figurines is often cited as proof that Middle Woodland was a high culture.
