Inca Technology

Most Inca buildings are rectangular in plan, have stone foundations, and stone or adobe upper walls.  Some structures, such as this one from Machu Picchu, have interior niches in the walls; many lack such ornamental detail.  Entrance to buildings is provided through a doorway or doorways symmetrically placed on one of the long walls.  Because it is a relatively large structure, this building has two doorways, rather than the more common single entrance.
